’80s prom returns to Quincy
Due to the success of last year’s event, organizers are bringing back Plumas Charter School’s ’80s prom fundraiser for a second year. This year, guests can plan to dance the night away Saturday, Oct. 5, from 7 p.m. until midnight, at the Tulsa Scott building at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy.
PCS instructional aide Lindsey Kimzey is again spearheading event planning, with support from the Mountain Valley Parents Club, which serves as the school’s parent-teacher-student organization.
Attendees must be 21 or older and wearing ’80s prom attire. The evening will include door prizes, dancing, a DJ, prom photos, a no-host bar, a silent auction, crowning of prom queen and king, and prizes in categories such as best dancer and best costume.
Tickets cost $20 per person, and they are available in Quincy at Barn Owl Books and Quincy Provisions, or at any PCS location: 546 Lawrence St. in Quincy, 212 Pine St. in Greenville, 4352 Main St. in Taylorsville, and 135 Main St. in Chester.
Proceeds from the event will go toward enrichment activities and events for all PCS learning centers. For more information, call 283-3851.
