A quick look at the year ahead in Quincy

We want to take just a moment to thank the many wonderful volunteers and businesses that participated in or helped with this year’s Sparkle. It was another glorious event and it certainly reminded us that regardless of the weather, the folks around here are always ready for a good time.

From our homes to yours, we wish you all a wonderful and prosperous New Year!

Two thousand nineteen has been a stellar year in our community. From the opening of all the new businesses, to the completion of the renovation of the School District building, the brand-new electronic sign at Quincy Jr./Sr. High School and winning the State Championship by our Feather River College Women’s Volleyball team … this has been a year packed full of excitement.

Looking ahead to 2020 we have some big plans:

• Chuck returns to visit Chamber member businesses in January.

• Groundhog Fever Festival on Saturday, Feb. 1.

• Chamber Member Meeting on Thursday, May 7.

• 75th Annual Plumas-Sierra County Fair Parade on Saturday, Aug. 15 (75 years!)

• Safe Trick-or-Treat on Friday, Oct. 30.

• Sparkle on Friday, Dec. 4.

We are also planning on partnering with the Employment Development Department and Small Business Development Center to bring additional educational courses to our area in 2020.

The next few months tend to be rather quiet, but did you know that many of our local businesses have weekly events, meetings, classes and more? There’s always so much to see and do in Quincy — check out our calendar at quincychamber.com/community-calendar.

On that note, we will wrap up our year with the following quote attributed to Brad Paisley: “Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.”
