Ambulance service in Greenville to change providers

There’s a rumor flying around on the internet that ambulance service in Indian Valley is a thing of the past. The Indian Valley Community Services District confirms that this is not the case.

The current contractor, PHI, is primarily an air ambulance delivery service, and has decided not to renew its contract for ground ambulance service in Indian Valley. As of now, PHI will be maintaining its air service out of Susanville. The ground service contract for Indian Valley ends Dec. 31.

The Indian Valley Ambulance Service Authority received a sealed proposal that was to be opened at 10:30 a.m.  and reviewed by an ad hoc committee Sept. 6. Authority directors also held a special meeting yesterday, Sept. 10 to review and possibly make a decision on a new service provider.

The potential ambulance service provider is Care Flight, currently the provider for Plumas District Hospital in Quincy. Indian Valley Hospital District and Plumas District Hospital are currently in the process of merging.
