AVCSD moving forward with land survey

Meeting in closed session for real estate-related concerns, American Valley Community Services District directors announced they are moving forward on preparing documents on the possibility of selling East Quincy land owned by the district.

Following closed session, attorney Joanna Gin and AVCSD President Denny Churchill announced there will be a title search on what is known as the Industrial Way property. This is a surplus parcel of 4.22 acres and was purchased by EQSD in 2002 for $18,400. There is a well on that location.

Directors are also having the property surveyed and hope to discover any existing easements, Churchill said.

Directors were anticipating a report back on survey results by March 12.

The Lamberts, who own adjacent property to the Industrial Way acreage, have expressed interest in purchasing the property should directors decide to sell it. Directors have already followed required steps in offering the property to county departments without interest.

If directors make the final decision to put the land up for sale they have legal requirements for listing the parcel.
