Rosemary Balbiani is on a royal road. In May, she was crowned Miss California High School Rodeo (CHSR) for District 1, which covers the nine inland counties across northeastern California: Plumas, Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity.

Two weeks ago, Balbiani competed with eight CHSR queens from other districts across the state in horsemanship, oral and written skills, and appearance and modeling.

She earned first runner-up and was chosen as Miss Congeniality by the other queen candidates.

This win advances her as the California candidate for Miss Silver State International Rodeo, taking place in Winnemucca the week of June 30 through July 6. She will compete in the same categories with high school-aged young women from across the United States, Australia and two provinces in Canada.
