Blue Goose holds First Friday

The Blue Goose Gallery of Artists hosted its second “First Friday” art event June 7, featuring four talented artists, including mixed-media artist Judy Abbott, watercolorist Lisa Courtemanche, photographer Jerri Nielsen and master woodcarver Gary Spence.

The artists demonstrated their techniques after-hours while displaying their artwork for guests to enjoy and to ask questions about their process.

This month’s theme is “Time For Making Waves,” a reference to the number of people in the community that said they are “so ready for summer,” that it was decided what better way than to splash out in the lake and make waves.

Refreshments, hors d’oeuvres and prizes were provided to guests attending the three-hour event.

The new, large classroom space in the back of the gallery is a perfect venue for the featured artists to present their work, and is used for a variety of art classes that are offered throughout the summer.

For dates and more information about these classes, stop in the Gallery or check the listing of classes on the Gallery online page.

To register for classes, call the gallery at 258-2600 during  regular business hours, Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Blue Goose Galley of Artists is located at 607 Main St., in Chester.

The next “First Friday” will be held July 5.
