Body of missing woman found

The body of Teresa “Terry” Marie Blake, the Woodland woman who went missing June 4 in Graeagle, has been found. According to Plumas County Sheriff Greg Hagwood, her body was discovered in vegetation at the edge of the river late in the afternoon of June 13, approximately three-quarters of a mile from where her car had been located last week. Members of the Search and Rescue team located Blake after discovering personal items in the area earlier in the afternoon.
Hagwood delayed releasing details of the discovery until her family could be notified. Hagwood said an autopsy has been scheduled, but no foul play is suspected. The exact cause of death will be determined following results of the autopsy and the toxicology report.
Blake and her family had been staying at Feather River Park Resort and she had left on her own to go fishing at about 1:15 on June 4. When she failed to return four hours later, her family notified the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office and the search began.

  • Very sorry to learn of Mrs. Blake’s demise. As a lifelong fisherman myself, I am writing a Letter to the Editor that may provide some light on this tragic event.
