Business Scene for the week of 1/30/19

Randy Barlow
Cathy Kuersten

Owner/broker Tim O’Brien is celebrating his “Rock Stars!” Cathy Kuersten, Ellen Olah and Randy Barlow were among Coldwell Banker International’s top producers in 2018. They work out of Kehr/O’Brien’s Chester/Lake Almanor office and the Pioneer Realty Offices of Coldwell Banker. Cathy and Randy have been named to the company’s coveted 2018 International President’s Elite. Only the top 2 percent of all sales associates worldwide in the Coldwell Banker system qualified for this distinguished group. Both Cathy and Randy have been consistent recipients of this award across their careers with Coldwell Banker.

Ellen is in her second year with the company and has earned exclusive membership in the Coldwell Banker’s 2018 International Diamond Society, a level achieved by only the top 11 percent of associates worldwide. Tim is understandably proud of these three and his entire team at his offices on the Lake Almanor Peninsula, Lake Almanor West and in Chester, Quincy and Graeagle/Portola.

Located in downtown Quincy across from Sweet Lorraine’s, The Bargain Boutique Fine Thrift and Gifts is now open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is an extremely well stocked store with a huge variety of merchandise whose proceeds benefit Plumas District Hospital. And now it sports a refreshed, bright new look and interior paint thanks to the PDH volunteers who have been really working hard sprucing up the store. Be sure to stop by and sign up for your chance to win the Valentine gift basket that is on display in the store’s front window.

Annie Holt, LMT is celebrating her first anniversary in Quincy with her business, Work of Heart Massage. To recognize this accomplishment and to thank her clients and to perhaps get to meet new clients she is offering a 25 percent discount on all her services through the month of February. Annie is a licensed massage therapist and has practiced in both the Bay Area and in Hawaii. She attended the Aloha Institute of Massage and Healing where she learned lomilomi; the ancient Hawaiian style of massage that she says is similar to a Swedish full body massage tailored to a client’s pressure preference. She shares office space with Dr. Martin Sanford at 315 Main Street.

Dr. Gary Klement at American Valley Animal Hospital in Quincy and Dr. Doyle Rolston and Dr. Suzanna Elkjer at Indian Creek Veterinary Clinic in Crescent Mills are offering a special 20 percent discount on dental treatment packages through February, which is National Pet Dental Health Month. These well established and highly regarded veterinarians at both clinics will provide an extensive dental workup, including an examination, pre-anesthetic blood work, IV catheter with fluids and anesthesia while cleaning and polishing. Take care of your pet and make your appointment today!

The day of the Big Game, Sunday Feb. 3, Karen at the Main Street Sports Bar in downtown Quincy is serving up a complimentary buffet — built around a huge sandwich from The Knook — starting a 12 noon.
