It’s that time again—Vitalant is holding its third Quincy Community Blood Drive of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 6 (from noon to 6 p.m.) and Wednesday, Sept. 7 (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).
Sponsored by the United Methodist Church, the two-day drive will hopefully “pump up” our blood supply, as there is currently a national shortage of this invaluable resource, and every available donor is asked to help.
Certainly an adequate blood supply is critical during major disasters, but there are thousands of patients with ongoing medical needs that require transfusions, and often that pint of blood you donate saves a life.
While a great many Quincy residents donate at every single blood drive we hold here (four times a year, and you know who you are!), we still have open slots available for the September drive. To make an appointment, go online to vitalant.org or call Susan at 530-283-2424, and she will be happy to make it for you.
The drive will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the corner of Bucks Lake Road and Bellamy Lane just west of the hospital. Hope to see you there!
