Caltrans provides update on Highway 70 closure

Caltrans reminds motorists today, Sept. 7, that Highway 70 remains closed to through traffic between Jarbo Gap (west of Pulga) and the Greenville Wye (junction with Highway 89) for culvert replacement at Opapee Creek, west of Belden.

The highway is currently planned to reopen to traffic (under 24/7 one-way traffic control) by Tuesday, Sept.13 at 7 a.m.

Access is allowed from either side of the closure, but not to cross the location at Opapee Creek.

There is no designated detour for this closure. Motorists are advised to check QuickMap for 24/7 updated highway information, including areas of road work and alternative routes.  If traveling in a large vehicle, please check this website for highway restriction information. Please note that delays may increase on alternate routes due to road work and increased traffic volumes due to the closure.
