Chamber pays tribute to long time board member Josh Huddleston

Happy New Year to all of our family and friends in Plumas County and hopefully it will be a prosperous one for all of us. Thank you to Josh Huddleston for the more than 15 years of service and dedication to the IndianValley Chamber of Commerce as an Executive Board member for all those years and we are definitely going to miss having you on the board. It’s impossible to express in words our gratitude for everything you’ve done in promoting the mission and goals of the chamber; the gracious way in which you’ve carried out more than your fair share of organizational duties; and making it appear so efficient and easy. We will be forever in your debt. That brings us to our organization and duties for the coming year. We have had some participation from citizens from Indian Valley and we want to invite others to join us as well, we will need some input and help from others to keep the chamber going and volunteering to do events. So many fail to realize all that goes on and gets done behind the scenes to promote business, improve tourism and market the county for recreation. It will take many strong people pulling in unison to maintain the office and keep the events going. I hope that some of you can donate a few days each month or each year to help us out. I appreciate those that have come forward recently and offered your time and talents. The IVCC will not be doing the “Crab Crack Dinner & Auction” for this year. Bink Huddleston has had some medical issues these past few months, as have I as well. It was impossible for us to pull together auction items in a timely manner and as we’ve reported before, the auction is where the chamber makes any profits at this event, as the ticket price only covers the cost of crab and side dishes. Very little discussion or planning has occurred these past few months so Chamber President Bin kHuddleston has recommended that we not do the event and that were group, make board assignments, and prepare for events coming later this year, and hopefully getting an earlier start for the Crab Feed in 2021. It really is a financial and prudent decision to cancel for this year and get more organized. The IVCC is prepared to get organized, have our planning meeting on Jan. 27at 5:30 pm. in the chamber office at 408 Main St.,Greenville. If you wish to get involved or join the board, please plan to attend. If you can’t make it on that date please email me [email protected] or call 284.6633 and leave a message. We look forward to seeing you there.
