Changes to evacuation warnings and orders in Almanor area announced

UPDATED noon: The following evacuation warnings have also been lifted: Babcock Crossing, Elephants Playground, and Murdock Crossing areas, Walker Mine, west portion of Grizzly Valley, Mt. Ingalls, Greenhorn and Spring Garden.
Original story: This morning the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office announced the following changes to the Evacuation Orders and Warnings in regard to the Dixie Fire. Please reference the evacuation map for details.

The Mandatory Evacuation Order along the East Shore of Lake Almanor has been reduced to a warning. The roadblock will be moved to Hwy 147 at Old Haun Road (this is just north of Canyon Dam on Hwy 147). Canyon Dam is still under a Mandatory Evacuation Order.

The Mandatory Evacuation Order for the Lake Almanor West community has been reduced to a warning.

MODIFIED: Everything west Hwy 89/36 Junction, west to the County Line along the southside of Hwy 36 and south of Hwy 36 to Rock Lake and west to the County Line has been modified to a warning. Everything south of this zone remains in a Mandatory Evacuation Order.

The evacuation warning for Chester, the Lake Almanor Peninsula and Hamilton Branch has been lifted.

The Sheriff asks that people do not call the  dispatch center to ask questions about these modifications or to ask when another area will be changed. They do not have information different from this and it only hinders their ability to do their job.
