Chester baseball wins game two in Los Molinos, 10-6

Los Molinos opened up the baseball season hosting its annual tournament on the Bulldog diamond. The Chester team stepped up to win their second challenge of the tournament as they faced the Mt. Shasta Bears, 10-6. The Anderson Cubs bested the Volcanoes, 7-3, in the first game but the CHS boys came back strong to beat the Bears in game two.

Senior Wade Neer, Junior Connor Barr, sophomores Lucas Klimek and Jaxon Holland all crossed home plate to score two times each for CHS. Seniors Cayleb Clark and Joey Tantardino each contributed a run to the winning score. Junior Logan Oswald hit three RBIs. Barr, Klimek, and Holland all hit two RBIs and Tantardino hit one runner in to score. Barr, Oswald, and Holland all hit doubles. Stealth running was displayed by Clark, Barr, Oswald, Klimek and Neer, all stealing a base from the Bears. Oswald served as catcher for the entire game for Volcano pitchers Klimek, Holland and senior Juan Flores. Holland struck out three Bear batters, and Klimek struck out two.
Chester will travel to Portola to take on the Tigers Friday, March 11, at 3 p.m. for any fans ready to see some live action baseball!
