Anyone who attended the Chester Community Tree lighting at Chester Park on Nov. 25 already knows about the new winter feature that will be opening on Dec. 2. The Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with local chamber members is sponsoring an ‘Ice Skating Rink’ at the park for the entertainment and enjoyment of the skating community. This is just one of many “programs/improvements” the Chamber is planning with the cooperation of the Plumas County facility department.
The rink hours will be: Fridays – from 5 to 9 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday hours from noon to 5 p.m. A $5 per person entry fee will cover a 45-minute skating session. Ice skate rentals will also be available. The plan is to keep the facility open through March of 2023. The cost of this skating rink is $80,000, so there are several ways the community can ensure it will become a reliable and returning part of Chester’s future. Please contact the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce to become a patron of the Skating Rink Program.
