CHP Report for the week of 7/31/19

The following incidents are submitted by the Quincy Area California Highway Patrol as a tentative summary pending the conclusion of the investigation(s).

Injury accident, July 23

At approximately 10 p.m., Brian Keeley, 41, of Verdi, Nevada, was driving a 1998 Dodge Dakota on Long Valley Road, north of Hunters Camp #4 Road. The Dodge was also occupied by three passengers.

Keeley was driving at a speed unsafe for the conditions of the dirt and rocky roadway. He lost control of the vehicle. The left-front corner of the Dakota struck a large tree, which caused major damage to the vehicle. All four occupants sustained injuries.

Keeley was transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. One passenger sustained major injuries for which she was treated at Renown Regional Medical Center, in Reno. A second passenger was treated for minor injuries, also at Renown Regional Medical Center. The third passenger sustained minor injuries, but was not transported.

According to the CHP report, Keeley was arrested. The investigation of this collision is ongoing.
