Chris Herlist Batiste

In loving memory of Chris Herlist Batiste. It is with great sadness, heartache and pain that we write this for our mother/grandmother. She was our rock, guide, confidant, champion, always there for us, believer and friend among other things. It has been very hard for us to write her obituary because each of us have been grieving her loss and processing this individually and as a family.

We would like to invite all of her family, friends and anyone that was touched by her positive aura that she always radiated to attend her celebration of life which is being held this Saturday, September 10th.

On behalf of her children, grandchildren, siblings and cousins, I want to thank you all for your condolences, well-wishes, friendships, flowers, and for just being the kind hearted and considerate people that our mother loved! We truly appreciate all that you are, all that you’ve done, all your prayers, all the hugs, check-ins, txts, calls, tears that we’ve shared together and reminiscent conversations that we had with you about “Mother Dear.”     It has been very hard for each of us since her passing, although we have stayed close together with each other and are doing our best to be as strong as possible, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It has been quite the arduous journey and we know that all the values, teachings, traditions, knowing the difference and choosing right over wrong, familial bonds that our mother instilled in us will live on within us. As each of us continue our mourning, our mothers words and teachings, including “Give it to God,” which will uplift us in our dark times as we face our trials and tribulations going forward.   We will always love you Mom!!   Sincerely,   Taman Dyami Batiste, Armon Isaiah Batiste, Sherry Batiste, Jamie Batiste, Maya Batiste, Nikkita Flowers, Brooklyn Batiste, Tessa Batiste, Hervel Hedrick, Heather Edwards.
