Common Good Foundation now accepting Grant Applications

After putting its winter funding cycle on hold to raise funds for Dixie Fire relief efforts, the Common Good Community Foundation will again be accepting applications for funding during the month of May.  Local non-profits are invited to apply through May 30th.

To apply, an organization must have non-profit status and be located in Plumas County. Organizations may not apply for grants more than once in a two-year period. Grants are limited to $1,500, and organizations may or may not receive the full amount requested, depending on the number of applications received and the amount available for awards. Grant applications must be postmarked by May 30th, and instructions and applications are available at www.commongoodplumas.org.

In other news, the Common Good Community Foundation raised and disbursed just shy of $235,000 for Dixie Fire relief and rebuilding efforts.
“We are so thankful and humbled by the generosity of our donors,” stated Colleen McKeown, founder of the foundation.  “Donations were received from Plumas County and throughout California and the United States.  It was heartwarming to see the outpouring of generosity and concern for the people and communities impacted by the Dixie Fire.”

Also of note, a new fund has been established under the umbrella of the Common Good Community Foundation. The new fund, “Lost Sierra Wings,” was established by Corinne West, Earl Thompson, and Riccardo Jacobus, who, along with Lisa Kelly, make up the steering committee. All donations to this fund are restricted for disaster relief within Plumas County. The first $10,000 in donations to this fund will be matched by the Common Good Foundation.
