Common Good Foundation now accepting grant applications
“Thank you for helping us make our vision a reality” is how Carly Kurpjuweit expressed her gratitude upon receiving a $1,500 grant from The Common Good Community Foundation in June. The funding was used to purchase instructional equipment and supplies for the newly formed Quincy Co-op Preschool.
“This is exactly the type of organization the Common Good Community Foundation seeks to fund,” stated board member Carol Snow. “Our goal is to support organizations that benefit local Plumas County residents and our communities, and a new co-op preschool does exactly that,” she added.
Does your organization need funding for a new project, equipment, supplies, etc? If so, The Common Good Foundation will be accepting grant requests from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. Grant awards will then be made in early December.
In order to apply, an organization must have nonprofit status and be located within Plumas County. Grants are limited to $1,500, and organizations may or may not receive the amount requested depending on the number of applications received and the amount available for funding in December.
Grant applications must be postmarked or emailed by Nov. 30. Instructions and application forms can be found at commongoodplumas.org.
“The Common Good Community Foundation has worked diligently to keep our expenses to a minimum to ensure that 96 percent of all donations are invested in local Plumas County communities,” stated Colleen McKeown, foundation president.
“Donors can designate how they want their donations used or they can make unrestricted donations that will be used to support local organizations in the form of grants.”
The foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, with all donations being fully tax deductible.
