Containment up another 6 percent on Beckwourth Complex
The Plumas National Forest released a statement on the current state of the Beckwourth Complex on the evening of Monday, July 19.
The Beckwourth Fire remains at 105,348 acres and is now up to 88 percent containment, which is an uptick of 6 percent in progress made since just this morning.
The fire perimeter has not grown in two days, and demobilization of excess resources will continue through today and over the next several days.
Many firefighters will either be reassigned to other fires, such as the Dixie Fire, or head home for a couple days of rest before getting their next deployment. Federal policy requires two days off after 14 days of work for firefighters, although under rare circumstances this can be extended to 21 days of work. All are asked to remember that many are working 16-hour days to combat the remainder of the Beckwourth Complex.
