CPRPD youth basketball around the corner
The Central Plumas Recreation and Park District’s youth basketball league sign-ups are going on now. This league is open to third- through eighth-grade boys and girls.
Volunteer coaches and assistants are needed in all divisions, and will teach basketball fundamentals, skills and concepts while promoting teamwork and good sportsmanship.
The District encourages early and prompt registration in the effort to formulate teams for league play and begin practicing. The third/fourth-grade league will have practices and games on weeknights at Quincy High School. Meanwhile, the fifth through eighth-grade leagues will be competing in a league with Portola, Loyalton, Chester, Indian Valley and Downieville. They will practice on weeknights at Quincy High School and play games on Saturdays at each of the participating sites.
The deadline to register is Friday, Nov. 1, and practices will begin Monday, Nov. 11.
There will be a $15 late fee for registrations accepted past the deadline. Registration is available at the District Office, 34 Fairground Road, or online at cprpd.com under the “Programs and Activities” page.
