David E. Wallace, Jr., a native of Glendale, and current resident of Quincy, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at his residence, following a long illness. He was 70 years of age.

He was raised and educated in Semi Valley and Garden Farms, in San Luis Obispo County; graduating from Atascadero High School in 1968. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and was honorably discharged. He then married his bride of 49 years and 10 months, Peggy Ann Dillon Wallace, on September 4,1971, in Santa Margarita. There they made their home and David worked as a general contractor.

In 1991, they moved to Quincy, where David owned and operated McLean’s Plumbing, retiring after 23 years in 2014. He was a member of the Quincy Elks Lodge #1884, where he served as the Exalted Ruler in 2007.

He is remembered by family as an avid fisherman, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with family, especially preparing dinners for them and watching his grandsons play baseball.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Wallace; daughters and their spouses, Shawn and Jonathon Jehle and Elizabeth and Ronald Welch and by grandchildren, Beau, Richard, Arrianna and Brendan.
