Deadline to register to vote is Oct. 24

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 8 General Election is Monday, Oct. 24. You can fill out a registration card that can be picked up at the local post office or the county clerk’s office on the first floor of the Plumas County courthouse in Quincy. Or you can register online at www.registertovote.ca.gov

“We have received a number of undeliverable ballots returned to our office,” said Marcy DeMartile, the county clerk recorder. “If you are currently registered to vote in Plumas County and have changed your physical and/or mailing address and have not received your ballot, please contact our office at 530-283-6129.”

When returning your completed ballot in the blue envelope, please make sure your signature and your Plumas County physical address — not your PO Box are filled in where required on the envelope. The ballot cannot be processed without that information. If the information is missing, the clerk’s office will contact the voter and give them the opportunity to remedy the situation.

DeMartile said she will be releasing the percentage of ballots that have already been filled out and returned to her office early next week.
