Dec. 28: Plumas announces 8 new confirmed cases; 1 more death

The Plumas County Public Health Agency announced this afternoon, Dec. 28, that there are 8 additional coronavirus cases and one death to report.

The deceased was a male in his 70s with underlying health conditions who resided in the Western Region. This is the third death from that region, and in the county as a whole.

Following is the breakdown of today’s cases:

Two residents from the Western Region (Chester/Lake Almanor)

Three residents from the Northern Region (Greenville/Indian Valley)

Three residents from the Southern Region (Quincy/American Valley)

Contact tracing is underway and if an exposed resident is identified during the investigation, the resident will be contacted by a member of the Public Health COVID-19 Response Team for further screening.

The current total of confirmed coronavirus cases is 463, with 44 of those active.
