Delleker boil water notice lifted; water is safe to drink now
On Dec. 1 a boil water notice was issued to those GLCSD- Delleker customers whose water service had been shut off to allow the services district to make necessary repairs to a nearby water main. After the repair work had been completed, the district flushed the water system and collected 5 bacteriological samples on Friday, Dec. 5.
The lab notified the district that 1 of the 5 samples detected total coliform bacteria so out of an abundance of caution the boil water notice remained in place. The system was then flushed again and another 5 samples collected from the same tap locations on Monday, Dec. 6. None of those 5 samples showed the presence of coliform bacteria showing the contaminant had been adequately flushed out of the system
Based on the test results it appears all contamination has been eliminated, and the water is now safe to drink. The district will still collect the monthly routine bacteriological samples for December as planned.
