Dixie Fire assistance center opens in Chester

A Disaster Resource Center opens in Chester on Tuesday, Sept. 14 and is scheduled to run through Sept. 27. The center located at the Almanor Recreation Center at 101 Meadowbrook Loop will be open daily from 11 a.m to 6 p.m.

Plumas County organizations will be on site as will representatives from CalOES and FEMA — details in the flyer below.

Plumas County Senior Transportation will be providing transportation from Portola and Quincy to the Disaster Resource Center as follows:

Wednesday, Sept. 15

Saturday, Sept. 18

Wednesday, Sept. 22

Saturday, Sept. 25

Pick up and drop off locations and times:

Portola area: Portola Memorial Hall, 449 West Sierra Ave;  pickup time 10 a.m. on Wednesday & Saturday

Quincy area: Old Probation Building next to the Sheriff’s Office, 1446 East Main St.; pickup time at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday & Saturday

The transportation bus will leave the Chester Disaster Resource Center (DRC) and return to the Quincy and Portola drop-off locations when the public has completed their DRC business. It not make any other stops requested by passengers.
