Eastern Plumas Community Assistance Network (EPCAN) Announces Changes to its Board of Directors

At its regular July meeting in Portola, the EPCAN Food Bank Board of Directors thanked one long-time departing Board Member and welcomed a new member to fill the vacancy. Effective immediately, Craig Simmons of Clio will join the Board replacing Maureen Ford who has moved to Reno and hopes to volunteer for the food bank there.

“Maureen joined the Board in 2015 and has been a tremendous asset during that time, we will miss her,” said Dink Rife of the EPCAN Board. And, she said, “Craig is no stranger to EPCAN as he and his wife Sandy have been volunteers for several years.” In addition, Craig is a Member of the Graeagle Lions Club, a local service organization that has consistently supported EPCAN through volunteering and providing financial support for much of its existence – ours and theirs.

The EPCAN Food Bank has served the Eastern Plumas County area since the mid-1990s. During that time, it has been extremely gratifying to see the generosity and support coming from our local communities that allows the food bank to continue its goal of turning away no one in need.

The Board welcomes Craig and wishes Maureen their best in her new community.
