Eastern Plumas vaccinates 69 healthcare workers today

Eastern Plumas Health Care vaccinated 69 of its healthcare workers today, Dec. 22, with more to follow tomorrow. Eastern Plumas employs 300 people.
Michelle Romero, the infection control nurse, said it was a smooth process that began about 9 this morning and concluded around 3:15 p.m.
“Everybody was very excited,” said Romero. The employees filled out their paperwork in one room; then received the vaccine. Each was monitored for 15 minutes to ensure that there were no adverse reactions. She said that at one point there were five doctors in the room monitoring each other.
Romero, who also received the vaccine, said she felt no discomfort during the actual vaccination.
The next dose of the vaccine will be given in 21 days and is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 12.
“It was just a good day overall,” Romero said.
Both Seneca Healthcare District and Plumas District Hospital also administered the vaccine this week.
