Eldora Marie Duniphin peacefully and with dignity passed on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, at the age of 93. She was at her home in Quincy, surrounded by the family she loved unconditionally by her side.
Eldora was born in Kerman, California, to Adolf and Victoria Selzer on February 2nd, 1929. She married Dennis Duniphin on September 7th, 1947. In 1965 Dennis and Eldora moved their family of five to Quincy, California. They remained married for 54 years until the death of Dennis on December 7th, 2001.
Eldora was best known for being an amazing mom to her 7 children, a wonderful grandmother to her 12 grandchildren, and a delight to her 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Eldora was a volunteer extraordinaire and being of service to her community was the joy of her life. She was a volunteer and member of Saint John’s Church, Plumas District Hospital, Pink Ladies, Election Volunteer, Plumas County Fairgrounds, VFW, Blood Drives and the Rhodora Club. In addition, she was a lifetime member of the Plumas County Museum.
As a domestic goddess, Eldora was passionate about reading, sewing, and baking. From fresh baked bread and cookies to calm reading time with cozy quilts, she radiated peace and love to her family and community.
A celebration of life will be held on May 7th, 2023. Time and place TBA.
