Emergency message issued for Feather River Canyon residents
This is an emergency message from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office for the western part of the Feather River Canyon:
There is a very high probability that the significant rainfall currently falling will cause a major landslide that will completely close Hwy 70 near Pulga. Since landslides currently have Hwy 70 closed near Rush Creek, you are strongly encouraged to leave the area to avoid being trapped between the slide areas. If you choose to stay, emergency services may not be able to reach you for some time. Please remember you can call, or text, 911 if needed.
