EPCAN food bank changes a key distribution date

Effective in April, the Eastern Plumas Community Assistance Network (EPCAN Food Bank in Portola) will make a change for distribution of commodities only.  The new date and time will now be the second Thursday of each month from noon – 2 p.m. starting April 14 and for subsequent months.

The schedule for perishables (fresh produce) remains unchanged and occurs on the first and third Fridays noon – 1 p.m. (the time is approximate depending on delivery truck arrival).

There is no advance registration required for either Commodities or Perishables distribution days for pick up directly from the EPCAN Food Bank at 120 Nevada Street, Portola.

Distribution of regular monthly essential food items (“Blue Slip” days) is unchanged – Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. or Thursdays noon – 2 p.m.  Advance registration is required at the Family Resource Center at 165 Ridge Street, Portola.

The EPCAN Food Bank serves residents living between Cromberg and Chilcoot.
