Evacuation order expands again
The Plumas County Sheriff has expanded the evacuation again as of 6:20 p.m. this evening. Now, in addition to the Highway 89 corridor from Canyon Dam to Greenville, residents west of the Highway 89/36 junction and south of Highway 36 are ordered to evacuate immediately.
Those evacuating from the above area should go to the shelter at the Memorial Hall in Chester at 180 Gay Street.
An evacuation warning has been issued north of Highway 36 along Stover Mountain west to county line.
