Evacuation warning issued for Chester
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation warning at 12:30 p.m. today, Aug. 3, for the residents of Chester. This includes Chester residents on both sides of Highway 89 from the 36 Junction east to the causeway, Last Chance Campground to north Old Red Bluff Road and Warner Valley Road. Residents are advised to make plans to evacuate.
However, since the current evacuation center at the Chester Memorial Hall would be included in this warning, the Sheriff’s Office is working on re-establishing the site at Lassen Community College.
