FAA announces grant funding for new equipment at Plumas airports

Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration announced four grant awards for airports in Northern California, including Gansner, Nervino and Rogers Field.

Nervino Airport in Beckwourth will receive $107,100 for new snow blower equipment.

Rogers Field Airport in Chester will receive $220,500 for a new snowplow truck.

Gansner Field Airport in Quincy will receive $107,100 for new snow blower equipment.

LaMalfa said: “As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, it’s always a welcome sight when investments are made in Northern California infrastructure. This funding will be a big help for the small general aviation airports in Plumas and Modoc counties that the local, rural communities rely on — such as Tulelake Municipal, which is currently being used to help fight wildfires in Modoc County.

I thank the FAA for awarding this funding that will help enhance the safety and service of NorCal’s airports.”
