Family asks public to be on the lookout for missing women

Plumas News received a call today, Nov. 9, from family members of two women who went missing after leaving Litchfield, 15 miles east of Susanville in late October. Samantha Cordova, the granddaughter of one of the women, Candy Sturgill, said that their destination was not known, but some acquaintances said that they could have been heading to Colorado to visit her. She said it’s unknown if they have luggage with them and they do not have a cell phone. The callers also said that the original information released by the Sheriff’s Office was inaccurate — for example the vehicle was silver, not tan — and they supplied an updated missing person’s flier. (Shown below.) She also wanted it known that she is taking care of her grandmother’s dogs, as some individuals have been concerned about them.

According to the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, the two women left Litchfield on Oct. 25 and were believed to be heading to Wendel, California. According to a press release from that office, the women were known to frequent the Wendel/Pyramid Lake areas. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office at 530-257-6121.
