Farm Bureau scholarship applications available now

The Plumas-Sierra County Farm Bureau is honored to recognize and award deserving high school graduates and college students pursuing their education goals with scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Applications are due on April 15 and are available by calling 993-4097 or by requesting on-line at [email protected] (please write “scholarship request” on the subject line) or at local Plumas and Sierra County high schools.

The scholarship is based on school and community activities, scholastic achievement, leadership skills and written application. In order to qualify for the scholarship, the applicants must meet one of the following requirements: 1) Be an immediate family member of a Plumas-Sierra County Farm Bureau Voting Member in good standing, or 2) Be a CA Farm Bureau Collegiate member and a graduate or graduating from a Plumas or Sierra County high school and majoring in an agricultural field.

Dave Roberti, president of the Plumas-Sierra County Farm Bureau, stated, “It is our pleasure to help our young people continue their education in the field of agriculture. The survival of the agricultural industry in California, and our ability to continue to ‘help feed the world’ rests with this generation.”
