Fourth positive COVID test for Loyalton Skilled Nursing staff members

Eastern Plumas Health Care in Portola announced this morning that it received notification of a fourth positive COVID-19 test for its Loyalton Skilled Nursing staff members yesterday, Nov. 11.

Staff and residents are tested on a weekly basis, and EPHC has notified residents’ families of the development. As of this morning, all residents have tested negative.

In a statement, EPHC said that its protocols “will help us continue to successfully identify possible cases and a potential outbreak to the facility and community. Since the initial pandemic began, EPHC has been diligent in following both CDC and County Public Health guidelines to maintain the safety of our residents, patients, staff members, and the community.”

Due to the increase of cases locally and statewide, no visitors will be allowed on any of the EPHC campuses.

EPHC will work with Public Health for contact tracing and re-testing of all employees and residents in its skilled nursing facilities.
