Northern California Bluegrass Society Band of the Year A.J. Lee and Blue Summit of Santa Cruz were the featured entertainers at Feather River College’s launch party Aug. 24. FRC celebrates 50

Totally acing the corn hole beanbag toss competition at the launch party were Delilah Cardenas, left, and Chloe Hampton of the FRC volleyball team.

Members of Quincy’s Huynh family were among the FRC celebrants. Sporting their best goofy grins at the picnic party were Jake, 7, and his sister Lauren, 2, with their parents PNFS Silviculturist Maurice and Jamie of FRC’s Trio program.

Many FRC student athletes were on hand for the anniversary festivities Friday evening on the green. Softball team players Malinna Levesque, left, and Shalayna Gamboa shared some laughs with Assistant Softball Coach Torri Parman.

FRC Class of 1978 alumnus and CSU Chico grad Alan DeWolf of Quincy attended the 50-year anniversary launch picnic and brought his original graduation program. Now retired from the PNF Beckwourth Ranger District, he was impressed with the memorabilia displayed in the library, saying it brought back happy memories of his days when FRC was known as Pine Tree Tech.

Baby Miles of Quincy, 5 months old, practiced singing with the band while his parents, Dr. Paige Lewis and Jeff Lewis, a student engagement specialist at the college, enjoyed the FRC anniversary party and picnic. Playing elsewhere was Micah Lewis, 2.
