FRC’s ‘Chicago’ comes to West End Theatre

Music, dance and murderous fun await you in the Feather River College and dramaworks production of the Fred Ebb, Bob Fossee and John Kander musical “Chicago.”

The West End Theatre show runs Thursday through Saturday, May 2, 3 and 4, and May 9, 10 and 11, at 7 pm. Sunday matinees May 5 and 12 are at 2 p.m. The West End Theatre is located at the corner of Crescent and Main streets In Quincy.

Tickets are available from Carey Candy Co., Quintopia Brewery, and online at www.westendtheatre.us.

Leads include Velma Kelly played by Tina Terrazas and Roxie Hart played by Kristina C. Dunn. Josh W. Huddleston takes a turn at Billy Flynn while Patrick Parks does Amos Hart. Cheryl Nicoles gets to take a turn at one of her all-time favorite rolls, Matron Mama Morton.

The classic 1975 musical takes the audience back to roaring ’20s Chicago where two vaudevillian murderesses and their attorney craft their stories for more sympathetic juries and press as they also compete for the limelight. The musical is based on a 1926 play of the same name by Maurine Dallas Watkins, a reporter and playwright who was covering similar stories at the time.

Chicago contains adult themes and is not intended for children.
