Caltrans and Plumas County are teaming up to offer a free dump day for household garbage and mattresses from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9 at the Delleker Transfer Station operated by Intermountain Disposal. The transfer station is located at 73980 Industrial Way in Delleker.
Hours of operation may vary due to volume of waste received. If the line backs up to Highway 70, staff reserves the right to pause the event until traffic is no longer impacted. Make sure to properly secure your load prior to transport.
Mattresses, box springs, and futon mattresses should be detached from frame or base prior to recycling with a limit of 4 mattresses/box springs/ futon mattresses per vehicle.
To help minimize traffic, it’s recommended that you use this opportunity to only bring items that qualify for the free dump day and plan a separate trip to bring any other items that need to be disposed of.
The following items are not free: construction debris, appliances, green waste, tires and furniture.
This event is restricted to Plumas County residents and excludes business waste. Free Dump Day is a partnership with Mattress Recycling Council, Plumas County Public Works and Caltrans’ Clean California. To learn more visit CleanCA.com. Questions? Contact [email protected].
