Free English class information night at C. Roy Carmichael in Portola

Those looking to learn English as a second language are welcome to attend a free information night at C. Roy Carmichael Elementary School in Portola on Monday, February 10 at 6 p.m.

Food and childcare will be provided.

English teachers Megan Tansey and Jessica Renteria are trying to gauge interest in the community for a class that will take place twice a week in two-hour blocks at CRC.

“We want to see what is going to work for people, whether they will need childcare, and what people’s goals are,” Tansey explained. “We want to be able to provide the support English learners need in navigating the conversations of everyday life.”

This program is provided at no charge to the community through Feather River Adult School and will last through the school year if enough interest is shown.
