Garbage service for western end of Plumas County suspended effective immediately

The solid waste division of the Plumas County Public Works Department announced that garbage service — both pickup and transfer station self haul — will be temporarily interrupted in Service Area 1 (the western portion of the county) due to the Dixie Fire. Service Area 1 includes Chester, Greenville, Quincy and La Porte. The eastern portion of the county will not be impacted. See the map below which shows the dividing line between the two service areas.

This interruption is in effect immediately.

Public Works asks that if your cans are out, please move them inside or to a protected area. The fire will be driving wildlife, including bears, out of the hills, so the public should beware.
