Giant rummage sale at White Sulphur Springs Ranch planned for Aug. 13; items sought
Submitted by John Lullo
The annual rummage sale is set for Saturday, Aug. 13, between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., at the historic White Sulphur Springs Ranch (WSSR) in Clio. This will be the fourth annual event at the ranch site at 2200 Highway 89, just south of the intersection with A15. During the pandemic years this event was the biggest of the fundraisers that kept the restoration of the historic property on track. It’s back again and bigger and better than ever.
The Mohawk Valley Stewardship Council (MVSC) is asking the community to donate items for the sale. Donations will be accepted at the ranch site on Friday and Saturday, the Aug. 5 and 6, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Items especially welcomed are gently used household items, small appliances, art décor, collectibles, jewelry, hand tools and small power tools. For furniture items, and things requiring special handling, donors should call ahead for the OK.  Items that cannot be accepted are computers, television sets, mattresses and bedding, clothing, shoes, car seats, exercise equipment and books. There will be no price tags. The MVSC depends on shoppers to come up with reasonable offers. There may be suggested minimums for highly valuable or unusual items.
Sale items will be displayed both inside and outside of the old ranch house. Depending on the changing Covid rules attendees should be prepared to mask up before going inside.
Tours of the newly renovated ranch house will be available between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the day of the sale. For more information about White Sulphur Springs Ranch, including membership opportunities and brick purchases check the website at www.WhiteSulphurSpringsRanch.com
All sales are final. For questions about the event and special donations, please call Nancy at 530-836-0311 or Judy at 530-836-0254. The MVSC is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.
