Giving blood is the best holiday gift: Quincy drive is Dec. 6-7

Want to make a difference this holiday season? Vitalant is holding a Quincy Community Blood Drive this Tuesday, Dec. 6 from noon to 6 p.m., and again on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday’s drive is sponsored by Patti’s Thunder Café. This is the fourth time Patti Decoe has sponsored our December drive, and we thank her for her dedicated support.

Wednesday’s drive is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also a repeat blood drive sponsor, and—as it happens—the location of this week’s two-day blood drive. (The church is on the corner of Bucks Lake Road and Bellamy Lane, just west of the hospital.)

To make an appointment, go online to vitalant.org or call Elizabeth Smailes at 435-590-1531, and she will be happy to make it for you. Walk-ins are always welcome.

All donors should eat a solid meal before donating, and you must present your picture I.D. (or Vitalant Blood Donor Card) to be considered eligible.

This is definitely the season for giving, and donors know that the hour they spend giving blood can make a critical difference in the life of someone, somewhere. We thank you for signing up!
