Greenville family in week three of coronavirus symptoms

Joceyln Cote and her family are now living through week three with coronavirus symptoms. Cote, 78, and her husband Ralph, 82, as well as their two adult daughters, son-in-law and granddaughter all began experiencing symptoms the week of Oct. 12 and were tested and received their diagnosis the following week.
Ralph has been hospitalized at Renown Medical Center in Reno since Oct. 21 and is expected to be transferred to a rehabilitation facility to continue his recuperation. “He is very weak,” said Joceyln, who talks to her husband usually a couple of times a day.
One daughter (who works in Plumas County Superior Court and is one of five employees to test positive in that office) also was hospitalized for a brief time. She is home, but requires oxygen as does her sister.
“We are slowly improving,” Jocelyn said during a Nov. 2 interview, adding that her worst symptom continues to be exhaustion. During the course of her illness she also suffered from a cough, loss of taste and extreme body aches.
“I’m just very, very tired,” Jocelyn said, “but everybody is still alive.”
The Plumas County Public Health Agency checks in daily to see how the family is faring, offering assistance if needed. Both Joceyln’s granddaughter and her son-in-law have fared the best and are feeling better.
