Greenville resident evacuates; saw a ‘tsunami of fire’

Ken KD Donnell was one of the Greenville evacuation holdouts — until this evening. He is now in Quincy.

Plumas News readers have become familiar with Donnell’s daily posts, keeping evacuated residents apprised of what was occurring in their small town. Earlier today he was making plans to open his outdoor kitchen to feed first responders. He was worried about what the afternoon winds would bring, but hopeful.

But now he is evacuated. He fears that Greenville is a “total loss.” And though that has not been confirmed, Donnell described a “wall of flames,” and “a tsunami of fire” bearing down on the town as he left.

Donnell will share more information as he is able. Plumas News will work to provide more information on this tragedy.
