Helen ‘Nancy’ Dembosz

Helen Nancy Dembosz passed away October 3, 2020. She was born December 17, 1926 in Culver, CA. She was a longtime Quincy resident. She moved to Quincy, Ca in 1951 when Jay was offered a teaching job.

Nancy graduated from High School in 1944 in Fontana, California and in 1945 married Jay, the love of her life.

Nancy, a beautiful loving mother, had four children; she was a grandmother and great grandmother. She was the Matriarch to the family, friends, and to the Quincy community. She had a kind loving core of goodness to her heart.  Like the roses in her garden, she kept blooming. She was a very gracious lady.

Nancy retired from the post office after 30 years of dedicated service. She was very giving of her time as a volunteer for the Quincy Library, Hospital Volunteers and the Catholic Church (which she attended for over 70 years). She was a mentor to many.

She so appreciated the mountains in Plumas County and often thanked God for bringing her to such a wonderful beautiful place.

Nancy loved sports. She attended all of her children’s sports as they were growing up. Her two favorite teams were the 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. She never missed a game and could be quite spunky with her comments.

She also loved playing Bridge with her many good friends. She was an avid reader and always had a jigsaw puzzle going on in her living room for all to enjoy.

A small funeral and Mass in Nancy’s honor was held on October 12, 2020 at St Johns Church by Celebrant, Father Salvador Bringas and was laid to rest with Jay at the East Quincy Lawn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the expressions of love and kindness.
