Highway 70 UPDATE: Now open following lumber truck accident
UPDATE 9 p.m.: Highway 70 now open.
UPDATE 4:15 p.m.: Caltrans announced that the highway is now open to one-lane controlled traffic.
The Quincy Highway Patrol announced that Highway 70 is closed west of the Greenville Wye this afternoon, Aug. 31, due to a wood truck rollover. The incident happened around 1 p.m. More information will be released as it becomes available.
This is the second lumber truck to overturn in the Canyon this month. Another closed Highway 70 west of Chambers Creek on Aug. 13.
