Highway 70 remains closed as precarious work continues
Highway 70 remains closed through the Feather River Canyon from Pulga to the Greenville Wye. As slides continue to come down on the roadway, Caltrans has now begun scaling the hillside to bring down the rocks. Once again, Plumas News must give a shoutout to these workers who are clearly doing precarious maneuvers to reopen the highway.
The highway has been closed for the most part since Jan. 9, with only brief periods of reopening. And even before that date, the highway was open only sporadically.
