History Night moving

History Night at the Collins Pine Museum went well last month, with a full crowd attending the event, noted historian and Chester Museum curator Marilyn Quadrio. However, attendance has grown so much that subsequent lectures will likely be held in a larger venue at Memorial Hall in Chester. The next talk is scheduled tomorrow, June 27, when Quadrio plans to discuss the Maidu people of northern Plumas County, presenting the program at a new time, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. “I am encouraging some of our native citizens to come and present their perspective if they would like to,” she said, “as well as provide background information on the Maidu culture and their relationship with the natural world.” Pictured: Maidu family members Nellie, Betsy and Fred Thomas and children in Humbug Valley ca. 1900.
