Howard Construction focuses on customer satisfaction

Locally owned and operated, Howard Construction provides comprehensive construction services to clients throughout Plumas and Lassen counties, with a knowledgeable team that’s available “all four seasons,” said proprietor Kyle Howard.
Howard brings years of construction experience to his work he said. Starting in 1978, he was building custom homes and making structural repairs in the Lake Almanor Basin well into the ’80s and ’90s, before establishing his general contractor’s business in 2009.
Whether it’s new home construction, remodels, decks, porches, carports, garages, roofing, door and window installations, drywall, concrete work, water damage repair, plumbing and electrical, Howard Construction provides top-notch work at competitive prices.
“Big or small, we do it all!” including commercial and industrial work, which includes travel outside the county for larger projects.
In addition, “We’re experts in one-of-a-kind custom homes, designed for a specific client and for a particular location. … The custom homebuilder may use plans created by an architect or by a professional home designer.”
Custom homes afford consumers the opportunity to control layout, lot size and accessibility.
His five dedicated and competent crewmembers are also EPA certified in renovations and repair, evaluation and debris removal for customers.
Since its inception, Howard attributes the success of his company to two key factors: they rank customer service as a high priority — “My clients really appreciate that” — and secondly to a superior work ethic.
Over the years, “I have developed many personal relationships with my clients,” often resulting in repeat business, he said, adding that, “I never leave anyone hanging when they call us — even when we’re not in the office, we strive to respond to calls in a timely manner.”
Estimates for work are free; everything is upfront he stated.
“I like to do an ‘open book’ policy where everything is clearly spelled out in the contract,” with no hidden fees or unexpected charges added later.
He noted that some of his clients have vacation homes in the area, but live elsewhere, but will hire Howard for his construction services via email and by phone because they’ve heard of his exemplary reputation for quality work. He’ll typically email them photos of the job site to keep them apprised of his progress he said.
Howard said his company handles the permitting process to make it easier for his customers by saving them time and legwork, and maintains a wide network of subcontractors whenever they’re required on a particular job. Plus he deals directly with insurance companies with whom he has a long-standing professional relationship he said.
Because client satisfaction is of utmost importance to his business, he always works to exceed expectations by going that extra mile he remarked.
“I treat both my workers and my customers like family. … I was brought up by my father to always treat people right,” which also includes donating to organizations and sponsoring events when he sees a need in the community, along with offering student scholarships.
Besides the company’s regular hours of operation, they’re available for after-hours emergency work, too, including taking field calls throughout the night and on weekends and holidays.
“We are meticulous and strive for perfection,” Howard insisted, further adding that, “We take pride in our professionalism while maintaining superior service,” which ultimately means an ironclad guarantee with every construction project no matter its size.
